Yoga Hikes

Yoga Hikes take place throughout South Carolina & western North Carolina. Typically, we hike first then stretch out the quads, glutes, hips and hamstrings to optimize peak performance.

Whether you’re an athlete cross training or simply love to hike and yoga, the combination of both packs a powerful punch in keeping our muscles, bones and joints, flexible and strong overall!

The yoga accommodates ALL-LEVELS; however, the hikes can be scaled per the group's fitness level. See our service “Guided Hiking Experiences’” as yoga can be an add-on to any of those offerings as well!

Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga is a versatile practice that can be offered as a low flying restorative class or high flying (hip height) class, bringing mat yoga poses into an aerial hammock.

There is a beautiful therapeutic aspect to this practice that decompresses the joints and spine, tractions, stretches and lengthens while remaining accessible for low mobility challenges.

The benefits of aerial yoga

A combination of the arts and athletics, aerial yoga offers several physical and psychological benefits:

  • Improved flexibility, stability, and balance. A 2019 study observed that aerial athletes have exceptional flexibility, balance, and strength.

  • Traction and joint decompression. Hanging upside down and inverting are said to decompress the joints, which can compress over time due to gravity and age.

  • Reduced risk factors for heart disease. While research on this style of yoga is limited, the most-cited study, conducted in 2016 by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), found significant reduction in the risk factors associated with cardiovascular heart disease.

  • Low to moderate intensity. The same ACE-commissioned study found that 50 minutes of aerial yoga can burn upwards of 300 calories, making it a form of low to moderate intensity exercise.

  • Improved mental health. A small study noted significant improvements in depression and stress levels when people practiced aerial arts for the love of movement. This seems to bode particularly well for aerial yoga, which applies yogic philosophies and is often less competitive and more accessible than a circus-based or formal acrobatics class.

Guided Hiking Experiences

Breathe in the beauty of the mountains, explore new terrain, chase waterfalls, grab your mat and yoga among the trees. Wach the sun rise or kiss the earth goodnight and let us take care of the details!

Each hike is geared towards your group’s preferences and led by a WFA certified guide.

Options include:

HALF Day = up to 4 hours.

Following are some tips to help you plan for our time together on the trail:
* Please keep in mind that the weather in the WNC is quite changeable and we can experience rain any time of the year.
* Temperatures at the higher elevations can be 10 – 20 degrees colder than those experienced at the lower elevations.
To enjoy a safe and comfortable day you should:
• Always carry waterproof rain protection (a poncho or rain jacket & rain pants).
• Wear sturdy, broken-in hiking boots (or comfortable walking shoes) .
• Dress in layers.
• Bring plenty of Water.
• Bring snacks and your lunch for a trail-side picnic.
• A cap or hat with a brim is a good idea too
• Hiking poles if you have them

Retreats encompass a muti-faceted approach to well-being and are held in diverse settings throughout the US. We offer both adventure-based retreats and R&R retreats for those seeking a slower paced & more rejuvenating experience.

Retreats can be customizable based on group needs. Yoga, hiking, reiki, meditation. pranayama, breathwork & kayaking are some of the offerings that can be incorporated into the itinerary.

Private Sessions (Online & In-Person

Client-centered and multi-functional sessions offer a deeper dive into overall well-being and enhance results through personal instruction tailored to your needs.

Sessions range from 45min to 1.5 hours.

A complimentary 15 min phone assessment is required prior to booking.
