Join us for a Full Moon Yoga Hike on the Bearwallow Mountain Trail in Gerton. NC. This is a short and moderate hike with stunning views!
Bring your yoga mat, headlamp and dress in warm layers!
You can fully expect cow sightings and stunning views (weather permitting)!
To start the trail, head right of an old, rusty gate. Once you enter the forest, you'll come across several switchbacks as you begin your ascent. At 0.4 miles, you'll encounter a well-constructed set of rock stairs created by the Carolina Mountain Club Friday Crew. The trail then switches back sharply at 0.5 miles before leveling out and curving around Bearwallow's western ridge. As you climb up the mountain's northern slopes, you'll come across a few more sets of rock stairs at 0.7 miles. Finally, at 0.8 miles, you'll reach the beautiful, grassy bald at the mountaintop meadow, which is often shared by cattle during the summer. After that, you just need to intersect with the gravel road and walk it all the way to the summit and fire tower.
